Authorities in Pathum Thani have taken action following the discovery of a video showing young children smoking cannabis. The video, which alarmed local officials, prompted an immediate response led by Pavena Hongsakul and local law enforcement. The incident involved two families with a total of seven children aged 7 to 14, living in precarious conditions in Lam Luk Ka district

The intervention was initiated after a school principal reported the situation, highlighting the neglect faced by the children due to their fathers' drug addiction. The children had been absent from school for over a month, raising concerns about their safety and well-being. The families were living in makeshift homes along a canal, with the children often left unsupervised

Pavena Hongsakul, along with local authorities, visited the site to assess the situation. The fathers of the children were subjected to drug tests, while social services evaluated the living conditions. The findings led to the immediate protection of the children, who were placed under the care of social services for further support and rehabilitation

The Ministry of Education is now working to find suitable schooling arrangements for the affected children, ensuring their continued education. Pavena Foundation, in collaboration with social services, will monitor the progress and welfare of these children to prevent future incidents. The case highlights the ongoing challenges of drug addiction and child welfare in vulnerable communities
