Spanish authorities have dismantled a drug smuggling operation that disguised illicit activities as humanitarian aid for Ukraine. The Guardia Civil arrested 30 individuals suspected of transporting marijuana in Ukrainian-registered vans across the southern region of Andalucia. The operation was uncovered when Ukrainian nationals were observed collecting the drug, leading police to seize 109 kilograms of vacuum-packed marijuana from two vans
The suspects, who include Ukrainian, German, Spanish, and Moroccan nationals, face charges of drug trafficking, criminal organization involvement, illegal possession of weapons, and electricity fraud. In addition to the arrests, police confiscated nearly €800,000 in cash, 2,500 marijuana plants, six firearms, and bulletproof vests in raids across Málaga, Granada, Córdoba, and Seville.
