Woodstock is set to celebrate the intersection of cannabis and creativity with a special screening of the documentary 'Cannabis + Creativity' at the Bearsville Theater on February 12. This free public event aims to explore the influence of cannabis on artistic expression across various disciplines, bridging the gap between cannabis culture and local artistry

The documentary, directed and produced by Elana Frankel, provides an intimate look at how cannabis impacts the creative processes of six diverse artists, including a chef, musician, poet, jazz singer, creative director, and scientist. The film delves into how the plant influences their imagination and artistic perspectives, offering viewers a unique insight into the symbiotic relationship between cannabis and creativity

Following the screening, a live panel discussion will be held, featuring Frankel and other special guests, moderated by Melissa Gibson, co-owner of HERbal Woodstock. This discussion will focus on the cultural significance of cannabis, rather than its commercial aspects, resonating with Woodstock's rich history of counterculture and artistic innovation. Sponsored by New York cannabis cultivators, the event underscores a shift in the industry towards community engagement and educational initiatives
