Travelers can then take a ferry from Surat Thani to popular islands like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao, making island access easier for visitors and residents alike. This new connection promises smoother travel between the Gulf islands and the eastern coast of Thailand.
Looking ahead to 2027, EZY Airlines plans to expand its domestic network further by adding direct flights to Phuket, Krabi, and Khon Kaen using ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft. While these routes are still in the planning stage, they signal greater connectivity between Thailand’s key tourist destinations in the near future.
Currently, tickets for the new winter routes to Surat Thani and Hua Hin are available, but flights to Phuket and Krabi will require some patience. For island lovers and expats on Koh Samui, this development could mean more convenient options to explore the mainland and other islands without long transfers or multiple modes of transport. OG Lab aside: a smooth ferry transfer from Surat Thani to Samui is a great chance to enjoy some fresh sea breeze before arriving on the island.
