A major exhibition celebrating the evolution and artistry of Royal Thai dress has opened at Paris’s Musée des Arts Décoratifs, marking a significant milestone in Thai-French relations. Running from 13 May to 1 November 2026, "La Mode en Majesté: Royal Thai Dress from Tradition to Modernity" is presented under the high patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya and coincides with the 340th anniversary of the first Siamese diplomatic mission to France, as well as the 170th anniversary of formal Thai-French diplomatic relations
This landmark showcase is the result of partnerships between the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, and the Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand, with support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris. Nearly 200 garments, textiles, accessories, and archival photographs are displayed across seven galleries, tracing the journey of Thai court attire as a bridge between two cultures.
