The Smile @Pattani festival brought new vibrancy to Southern Thailand from April 24 to 26, 2026, as the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted the event at the Aomthong Grounds of CS Pattani Hotel. The festival aimed to highlight the region’s rich cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and the resilience of its communities following the floods of late 2025. More than 40 food and drink vendors served authentic southern Thai cuisine, while over 10 booths featured OTOP products, artisan crafts, and local specialties from Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat
Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, TAT Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing, emphasized the event’s community impact, stating, “Smile @Pattani reflects the TAT’s commitment to strengthening local economies, while confirming the area’s openness, dynamism, and eagerness to host travellers. Each visit directly contributes to the livelihoods of local communities, while event experiences foster deeper connections between visitors and local culture, support community enterprises, and create lasting impressions.” Visitors engaged in interactive workshops and live demonstrations, gaining firsthand insight into traditional skills and contemporary creative practices
The family-friendly festival also featured large balloon installations and photo checkpoints, adding a modern twist to the cultural celebrations. Daily programs included classic southern dances, Dikir Melayu performances, and contemporary entertainment such as B-Boy and cover dance routines. Evening concerts by Thai artists like Manasvee, YOURMOOD, and Mirrr attracted diverse crowds, further cementing Pattani’s reputation as a lively and welcoming destination
