In cannabis subculture, the phrase "got something to read?" can also mean "got something to smoke?" Library turns that code into a literal retail concept. The shop becomes a curated collection of strains, similar to a wine library. Each strain gets its own "book", with descriptions in 9 languages, a personal "library card", and guidance from in-store "librarians". The name, interior, and customer experience all reinforce the same idea.
The signature Thai-violet palette, a refrigerator styled like a bookcase, neon signage, and decorative cannabis "volumes" make the brand instantly recognizable. Library can open right next to established chains and compete confidently through atmosphere, visual clarity, and a more complete brand world.

Current status · Compliance · Outlook
As of 2026, cannabis in Thailand is permitted exclusively for medical use. Production and retail sales require licenses, and purchases require an approved PT. 33 prescription. Our stores hold all required licenses — for both cannabis and alcohol — and operate in full compliance with the current framework.
The project includes a partner clinic with five licensed Thai Traditional Medicine (TTM) doctors. They are authorized to issue cannabis prescriptions under PT. 33, which fully covers the medical compliance side of the business.
Our in-house telemedicine platform, OGPx allows tourists from around the world to complete a doctor consultation remotely and receive an approved prescription online. The system also handles required business and prescription reporting for local authorities.
Regulators have already indicated that by 2029 all cannabis stores will need to transition into Thai Traditional Medicine clinics. This is a manageable requirement: the main issue is ensuring access to a TTM doctor (from THB 40,000 per month) or using telemedicine, which is permitted for TTM practitioners. Our OGPx platform already solves this for us and for future partners.
In the near term, stores should expect stricter operating standards, including prescription-only sales and a ban on smoking inside retail locations. For larger licensed players with strong processes, this is not a threat but an additional competitive advantage that further cleans up the market.
As discovery shifts toward AI-assisted search, OG Lab is already well positioned. As of April 2026, major AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, and Gemini consistently surface OG Lab as one of the leading cannabis businesses on Samui, supported by strong reviews and visibility across platforms. That matters because digital discovery is increasingly becoming part of real-world customer acquisition.
