Srinakharinwirot University has taken significant steps to broaden its international academic ties, conducting a series of high-level visits to prominent institutions in Beijing. The delegation, led by university council chairman Chumpol Phornprapha, Thailand-China Cultural and Relationship Council president Phinij Jarusombat, and university president Assoc Prof Dr Chonlawit Chiarachit, engaged with top Chinese organizations to explore new avenues for cooperation in education, research, and digital innovation, according to Bangkok Post (Thailand)
During their Beijing trip, the group held extensive discussions with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), focusing on potential collaboration in research, academic exchanges, and knowledge sharing across social sciences, humanities, and communications. The delegation also met with leaders at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), where they explored possible joint efforts in Asian studies, Chinese language, international business, and student exchange programs. BFSU president Jia Wenjian welcomed the Thai delegation, highlighting the university's expertise in foreign languages and international relations
The university team also visited the Beijing Research Institute of Huawei Technologies to examine advances in digital innovation and emerging technologies. The agenda included presentations on smart city infrastructure, artificial intelligence, healthcare technology, and 5G applications under the framework of an existing memorandum of understanding between Srinakharinwirot University and Huawei. These discussions centered on leveraging digital technologies to enhance future learning and organizational development
A university spokesperson emphasized the institution's dedication to global engagement, stating, "The visits reflected its commitment to internationalisation and to building partnerships with leading global institutions and technology companies in order to enhance academic development, research capabilities and future opportunities for students and staff."
